Built in the late 19th Century, Hotel Nether Abbey is situated in the seaside town of North Berwick on the East Coast of Scotland, 25 minutes from Edinburgh.

A great atmosphere.

From the moment you arrive at Nether Abbey, you'll be made to feel very welcome. Staff are incredibly helpful and friendly and create an excellent and relaxing ambience.

Such a good position.

Because the local train station is less than five minutes away on foot, it's very easy to get to and from this hotel and also to venture to nearby Edinburgh. Meanwhile, the town centre is a ten minute walk away, where there are a lot of shops and places to eat. The beach is nearby as well, as well as attractions such as the Scottish Sea Bird Centre and Dirleton Castle.

A nice way to kick off the day.

The breakfast at this hotel is great. There is a great range of items from which to choose, all of which are delicious.

Negative Reviews

Parking problems.

Because Nether Abbey has a popular restaurant, the car park tends to get full, which means that you might have to find an alternative place to leave your vehicle.

Busy busy.

The popularity of the restaurant leads to rather slow service during busy times. You may find yourself waiting for quite a long time for the meal to arrive. Also, it might be worth booking a table in advance if you intend to eat there, so that you don't miss out.

Some sounds might disturb you.

If your room is facing the street, you may experience noise from the buses and cars outside. Similarly, you might hear sounds from the kitchen extractors or from people having a drink downstairs.
