Positive Reviews

Plenty of activities

Guests revel in the walking, bird watching and photography opportunities that are waiting to be experienced here. The organised Spice Walk is a favourite guest activity and there are rumours of an on-site spa being created shortly. There are on-site culinary thrills too. Guests are welcome to see dishes being prepared and there are cookery courses so that, back home, guests can remind themselves of this very special place. Excursions further afield include Tata Tea Museum just outside Munnar and the thundering waterfalls at Nyayamakad which is between Munnar and Rajamalai.

Accommodation highlights

The accommodation is simply presented but perfectly in keeping with the role of the hotel and its exquisite surroundings. Hot water is plentiful and guests remark that this is not always the case in hotels in India. Beds are comfortable too. There is a balcony or patio from where guests can thrill to the extensive views of neighbouring plantations. Visitors can’t wait to return here and maybe next time, book into one of the popular tree-house rooms.

Conveniently remote and friendly

Management and staff reflect the relaxing appeal of this remotely based hotel. They are extremely friendly and keen to assist the guest in enjoying their stay to the full. This they do in a relaxed and unobtrusive manner. The hotel does not, though, suffer at all from its remote location. In fact, guests feel that this is a prime attraction. They also confirm that any concerns about remoteness are unfounded. There is constant access via the hotel jeep to the main road and to tuk-tuk transport to Munnar.

Negative Reviews

Plantation parking problems

The only possible problem relates to parking. Because of the location, guests can’t park their car on-site. Instead, the hotel jeep transports guests from the parking area to the hotel.
