Positive Reviews

Impressive rooms

Guests are impressed with the room quality at the Wheelwrights Arms, often going so far as to describe the accommodation as luxurious. Reviews indicate that the rooms are spacious and clean with great bathrooms. Guests appreciate the sumptuous dressing gowns and jars of sweets.

Enjoyable breakfast

The free breakfast is well received by guests, with many commenting that the food was nicely prepared and presented. The service from the staff also attracts positive feedback. Guests say the staff is friendly and the breakfast is served promptly.

Great location

With views over the hills and valleys surrounding Bath, the setting of the Wheelwrights Arms holds considerable appeal for guests. Despite the village location, it's just a 15-minute drive to Bath city centre. As a result, guests feel they have enjoyed the best of both worlds here.

Negative Reviews

Occasional dining disappointments

Although the meals served in the pub are often subject to rave reviews, there are occasional disappointments. Guests report issues such as small portion sizes and inflated prices. Also, guests sometimes mention feeling disappointed with the food quality. However, such issues seem to be rectified immediately.

Some reports of noise

Guests mention that the rooms are situated next to the pub car park. While the Wheelwrights Arms is not a rowdy pub, the location of the rooms means that you may hear patrons leaving fairly late in the evening, as well as some early morning deliveries.

Footsteps from above

Feedback about this property suggests that if you're a light sleeper, you may be better off asking for an upper floor room. It's either that or run the risk of the sound of footsteps from above keeping you up at night.
