Positive Reviews

Close to Blenheim Park.

Blenheim Park is just across the road. It is a large park with streams, a lake and boats to hire and in peak season there is a café open. There is an oriental theme to it and also a playground for children.

Classic and elegant hotel.

The hotel is a historic building that has lots of kerb appeal. The staff are well turned out and are friendly yet efficient and discreet. The hotel has a very elegant feel to it with manicured gardens and sympathetic refurbishment throughout. The main dining room is oak panelled and serves a three course dinner.

Enjoy the hotel’s facilities.

The rooms are large, comfortable and traditionally decorated. Many rooms have lovely views over the bay. Guests have enjoyed using the indoor pool which is heated and therefore can be used in all seasons. The nine hole putting green is also welcomed as something to do when the weather is fine.

Negative Reviews

Food is hit and miss.

Whilst many diners have enjoyed their food there have been a handful who have felt that both the breakfast and dinner needs to be improved. This is mainly down to the quality of the cooking as opposed to the ingredients used.

Mainly older guests.

The hotel is primarily tailored to older clientele with its décor and sedate atmosphere.

Complaints not handled well.

On the rare occasion that a guest has felt the need to complain they have felt the hotel have been defensive and not accepted their feedback. This has also meant that only minimal attempts to resolve the problems have been made.
