Positive Reviews

First class accommodation

The hotel dates back to the 18th century but has been well maintained and looked after by the owners throughout the years. The decor is very chic, top quality furnishings have been used and there is obvious attention to detail throughout the whole hotel from previous guest reviews.

Very comfortable nights stay

The rooms are highly recommended with their top quality linen, Neutrogena toiletries and fresh flowers. They are tastefully decorated in keeping with the buildings character.

Picturesque location

The surrounding area is picture perfect with its thatched houses and beautiful gardens. The hotel sits within Exmoor National Park where you can find many villages and hamlets to visit.

Negative Reviews

No central heating in the bedrooms

In the winter months of the year, many guests have complained about the lack of heating in the bedrooms as their a re no radiators. There is no central heating in the building at all and it has old sash windows.

Dogs welcome but no bedding offered

The hotel happily allows pets to come and stay but they are not catered for in the room or are allowed in public areas which makes the stay a little difficult.

Unsuitable hotel for children and disabled

The hotel states it is not suitable for children. Unfortunately this is not an option for families wishing to stay in this area. There is also not a lift available which would create a problem for any disabled guests wishing to get to their room.
