About The Beach House

The Beach House (formerly Westover Hall) is located in the small Hampshire seaside town of Milford-on-Sea, just 200 yards from the beach. Evocative interiors, friendly staff and sweeping sea views are the hallmarks of this manor hotel.

There are 15 well-appointed en-suite rooms all of which feature flat-screen TVs, tea/coffee making facilities and complementary Internet access as standard. Some rooms boast balconies and sea views.

Guests can relax and admire the vistas from the large garden terrace area (replete with shipwrecked boat). Free Wi-Fi is available in all public areas and on-site parking is provided free of charge.

Traditional British pub fare (including complementary cooked breakfasts) made with seasonal produce is served in a choice of dining areas. The cavernous, wood-panelled bar proffers international lagers and award-winning cask ales.

The New Forest National Park is less than 10 miles from The Beach House; Bournemouth is a 30-minute drive away.

Positive Reviews

Hotel interiors really are something else

The owners of this Grade II listed Victorian mansion have gone to great lengths to ensure The Beach House's interiors feel fresh and invigorating yet espouse the style and grandeur of yesteryear Without doubt, the restored oak-panelled walls, stained glass windows and vintage furniture bring all the class of the Victorian period to life, while the modern design flair and contemporary styling used throughout gives the entire hotel a thoroughly up-to-date air Very, very cool.

Wonderful location

Being just 200 yards from the beach means the hotel enjoys some truly splendid views of the Solent, The Needles and the Isle of Wight beyond Having the picture postcard beauty of the New Forest just up the road and the majestic beaches of Poole Bay less than half an hour away by car isn't bad either.

Young workforce is very friendly, positive and industrious

The highly energetic young men and women working at The Beach House are an amazing advert for youthful industry and endeavour Truly, their collective 'can-do' attitude is as infectious as it is welcome.

Negative Reviews

Water pressure is lacking

Trickling' is the best way to describe the water pressure in The Beach House's guest bathrooms so don't be expecting any power showers or 'full-in-two-minutes' baths during your stay.

Hotel ambience changes depending on who's in the pub

The pub is the beating heart of the hotel and thus the vibe of the pub dictates what the general vibe throughout the hotel is This means that a peaceful weekend stay can morph into the complete opposite whenever a great influx of visitors turn up to sample the highly rated local ale.

But that's it

When all's said and done, the lacklustre water pressure and fickle ambience are the only niggles of note here.
