Set in a commanding spot, overlooking the bay, the The Tremarne Hotel is a boutique hotel offering elegant and stylish accommodation for guests visiting this lovely stretch of Cornish coast.

The rooms are refined and elegant, and feature en-suite bathrooms, flat screen TV’s with freeview channels, telephones, hairdryers, alarm clocks and, of course tea/coffee stations so that you can make yourself a cuppa before settling down to EastEnders.

The The Tremarne Hotel has a gorgeous sun terrace, with a sparkling pool ideal on those hot summer days.

The on-site restaurant holds pride of place at The Tremarne Hotel, with the chefs taking the very best of Cornish produce and creating much acclaimed culinary masterpieces. There is a particularly extensive wine list to help you find that perfect pairing.

The town centre and the beach at Portmellon Cove are both about 10 minutes’ walk from The Tremarne Hotel Hotel, while further afield the incomparable Lost Gardens of Heligan are just three miles to the north.

Positive Reviews

Excellent food at the restaurant

While some do comment that it is a bit pricey, very few guests have anything but the very best to say about the on-site restaurant. The atmosphere is described as refined and elegant, and the food as exceptional. Guests seem to particularly like the local touches, like food cooked in cider.

Friendly and jovial staff

While there were a couple of contrary opinions, the overwhelming majority of guests mention that the staff were welcoming and friendly, and seem to create a sense of fun as well.

Terrific location

It seems that many guests were in the area to visit the Eden Project or the Lost Gardens of Heligan. They found Tremarne to be an ideal base, since neither are very far from the hotel. But beyond these attractions, guests also speak of the convenience of being able to take a quick walk into town, or to the dramatic coastal path.

Negative Reviews

Bit of a problem with the Wi-Fi

While complaints about hotel Wi-Fi are not in the least unusual, and guests may simply have bad luck on occasion, it seems there are a bit too many comments to dismiss in this case. Guests say that the signal is not strong enough to reach some rooms, and that the service is intermittent, slow, or quite possibly both.

Small bathrooms and showers

While not a common complaint, a couple of guests do mention that they thought their bathroom was a bit too small, especially its shower. As with other small hotels it may be that rooms sold in the same class vary in size, so this may not be a widespread problem.

Some not convinced of value

Some guests, while not really finding major fault, did think that they had not really received enough value for what they considered an expensive room-rate.
