Positive Reviews

The cream of Cornish hotels.

A friendly welcome and great views over Portmellon Bay from the room, form that important first impression. You won’t be disappointed thereafter; rooms are attractive and clean with many stunning views and the guest lounge and terrace offer the same. Relaxing and highly satisfying.

Why dine out?.

Menus are fantastic and include not just fresh local produce but locally caught fish, too. Excellent quality and value – prices, too, are easy to digest! A real joy. Breakfast is superb as well and a hint – and flavour - as to what might be on offer later in the day.

On track with off road parking.

During the high season, Cornwall is ‘very’ busy with parking problems similar to those in London’s West End. What a relief then, to find a super hotel with the added bonus of off road parking!

Negative Reviews

Pillow talk.

They’re sub standard and uncomfortable. At the tariffs charged, they are easily replaced via a trip to the local supermarket and without busting the budget. Then everyone can sleep easily.

Too many steps to paradise.

There are 23 steps up to the front door. With no assistance with luggage, it’s an inconvenience for many and a complete ‘no-no’ for some.

Absent friends.

There’s no ring of confidence as you try to muster some attention at reception. The same applies in the bar where you also have to ring for service. Goodness knows how much bar business they’re letting slip through their fingers.
