Positive Reviews

Great customer service.

You'll receive a very friendly welcome at Riverbank Guest House. The staff are lovely and helpful, with a good attention to detail and a genuine desire to make sure you are having the best time possible. The atmosphere they create is very calming.

A great location.

The hotel is in a quiet spot, with a lovely garden that offers river views and stunning scenery. Happily, despite its peaceful position, it is still convenient for the train station and bus links. Being a short walk from town, there are lots of shops and restaurants from which to choose.

Relaxing rooms.

Guestrooms are immaculately clean and comfy with good mattresses, tea and coffee-making facilities and tasty biscuits. Some of them offer delightful views of the gardens as well.

Negative Reviews

A touch firm.

While the mattresses at Riverbank Guest House are comfortable, the pillows might be a little hard for some people's taste. Also, some of the beds are quite short and narrow. If you are tall, your feet might hang off the edge.

An early decision.

You'll need to decide what time you would like breakfast the night before. This doesn't allow any room for spontaneity and requires forward planning.

An update would be good.

The décor could do with a little modernisation. It's not overtly tired or past its best, but rather a moderate spruce up here and there would just freshen things up.
