Previously a cotton warehouse, The Abel Heywood is now a pub and boutique hotel located in Manchester’s vibrant Northern Quarter. Manchester Arndale, high-street shops, pubs and clubs are all within a short walking distance.

All 15 stylish rooms include an en-suite bathroom and feature a television, free toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities. Deluxe Loft Bedrooms and Suite Bedrooms also offer a sofa bed and larger work stations.

This boutique hotel offers a high standard of accommodation that guests appreciate. The fixtures and fittings in the rooms are beautiful and the beds are comfortable. The rooms are also kept very clean.

Great location

This hotel is located in the heart of Manchester. Guests love the fact that numerous clubs and restaurants are within walking distance and report that it’s also conveniently located for Manchester Arndale and the all the shops in the city centre.

Delicious food

Guests enjoy the food served at this hotel. The breakfast menu is very tasty and features an interesting and varied selection of meals to try ranging from a Manchester Fry Up with sausage, bacon, eggs and Bury black pudding to the Classic Eggs Benedict. The lunch and evening meals are also good quality and good value.

Negative Reviews

Rooms on the small side

Guests feel that the rooms at this hotel are on the small side and that more space would have made it easier to accommodate luggage and other possessions. However, the hotel does offer a selection of rooms and Deluxe Loft Bedrooms and Suite Bedrooms should provide more space to stretch out and relax more comfortably.

Windows don’t open

Guests mention that they would have liked to have been able to open the windows in their rooms and found it slightly irritating that it wasn’t possible.

Noisy at times

According to feedback, this hotel can get a little noisy at times. Guests comment that they could hear noise from the pub below and were also disturbed by noise from the street outside.
