About The Stanley Arms

The Stanley Arms is a four-star hotel set in a converted stone barn and offers upscale accommodations. It is located in the Macclesfield countryside and is an ideal place for country hikes, bird watching or a relaxed stroll.

There are seven rooms with rustic decor and antique furnishings featuring flat-screen TVs, DVD players and tea and coffeemakers. All the rooms also have en suite bathrooms with hairdryers as well as countryside views, while some rooms have exposed beams and chandeliers.

There is a quaint restaurant offering regional cuisine. The pub serves locally crafted real ales and there’s a beer garden as well. Breakfast is included.

Excellent ambience

Guests loved the ambience of the hotel. The hotel is set in a converted stone barn and has country touches throughout. There are antique furnishings, exposed beams and chandeliers adding to the traditional atmosphere. There was a peaceful, tranquilising feeling while at the hotel said the guests.

Lovely pub

There is a fantastic pub on-site that serves a classic pub menu and freshly brewed beer. The real ales prepared at the pub were a total hit amongst the guests. The ambience of the pub is rustic-chic and cosy. Guests said that it was the perfect place to enjoy a refreshing drink and unwind.

Warm welcome and perfect location

Staff at the hotel greeted the guests with a warm, welcoming attitude. They were very helpful and courteous, and extended good customer service. The countryside location of the hotel with stunning views of the Peak District National Park was also ideal. It was not far away from Cat and Fiddle, close to Macclesfield and set on a quiet, peaceful roadside. The location of the hotel was ideal for bird watching, biking tours and country hikes as well as calm strolls.

Negative Reviews

Lax service at the restaurant

Some guests said that the service at the restaurant was slow and many were unattended. There was a long waiting time for the food to be served and even for getting a place on the reserved tables.

Arrogant bartender

Few guests mentioned that the barman had an arrogant attitude and was quite rude while conversing with the guests.

Deteriorating food quality

Some guests mentioned that the quality of the food was not the same as before. There was deterioration in the taste and the quality.
