Positive Reviews

Trendy hotel had clean and comfy rooms

The well-appointed rooms with cool contemporary décor went down well with visitors, who often said the accommodation was well-equipped with flat-panel TVs, mini-fridges and safes. Many reviewers called the rooms spacious, clean and tidy. Travellers also remarked that the shared bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. The arty murals added to the hotel’s special character, according to many guests. The relatively competitive room rates prompted budget-minded travellers to say the hotel represented an affordable option for central Los Angeles.

Faultless customer care

Travellers repeatedly sang the praises of the pleasant, professional and obliging employees, who offered good customer care and a hassle-free check-in.

Popular central location

Drivers loved being within easy reach of main roads encircling downtown LA, which made it easy to access sports arenas, theme parks, arts venues and famous landmarks citywide. Those without their own transport appreciated the proximity of Union Station and having bus stop right outside. The location in a hip part of town meant travellers could easily walk to many of downtown LA’s finest museums, as well as a good selection of interesting places to eat and drink in the surrounding blocks.

Negative Reviews

Shared bathroom grumbles

Several critics were disappointed by the fact that this hotel featured shared men’s and women’s bathrooms on each floor instead of en suite bathrooms.

Claims of inadequate soundproofing

Light sleepers blamed thin walls for making it possible for them to hear occasional nuisance noise from adjacent rooms. It was also claimed certain rooms were exposed to street noise at times.

A few minor issues

The lack of a lift bothered a few critics who had lots of bags to carry. Several guests also bemoaned the lack of a breakfast offering. Meanwhile, motorists sometimes said they wished parking had been provided by the hotel.
