Positive Reviews

Great For a Cornwall Holiday

The Barclay House is a wonderful place to put up your visiting family who is on a Cornwall holiday The family suite at the top of the hotel is an adjoining suite with plenty of room The other option for a large family would be one of the self-catering cottages Also, very clean and spacious Moreover, everywhere you look is a great view.

You'll Want To Bring Home The Mattress

Sometimes a hotel stay will make you want to toss out your own mattress The beds at the Barclay House are so comfy, you might be asking for the mattress brand before you leave If you can pry yourself out of bed, be sure to indulge in the afternoon tea on the terrace.

Bring A Torch

Recent guests booked into the Barclay for the Looe music festival They couldn't find anything to complain about except for the walk along the main road to get to town Apparently, it was quite dark at night Not the hotel's fault but you might want to bring a torch just in case.

Negative Reviews

Shoddy Wi-Fi

The Barclay House can date back several decades As such, it not as "wired" as a city hotel might be Wi-Fi reception can be shoddy and that's not good if you need to get some business down while on holiday.

Loud Wedding

The Barclay is a popular spot for weddings That's great if you're there for the reception but not so great if you're trying to have a peaceful stay in a cottage Often the music from the outdoor venue might seep into your room.

Not So Pleasant Honeymoon

Often rooms will switch around to accommodate the needs of different guests One honeymooning couple didn't appreciate the two single beds zipped together for their holiday Can you blame them?.
