Positive Reviews

Country charm

There’s no doubt that the West Arms places you in the middle of nowhere Guests report an interesting trip down narrow lanes to find the place, but once you arrive, you can’t help but adore the cosy, old-world charm on offer here.

Great food

Guests love the fact that breakfast is included in the cost of a stay here and describe it as delicious, plentiful and cooked fresh to order There are also plentiful positive comments about the restaurant food It’s easy to see why it’s award-winning.

Exceptional service

With very few exceptions, guests comment favourably about the owners and staff at the West Arms You’ll get a quintessential countryside welcome here and, by all accounts, friendly and attentive service throughout your stay The team is happy to offer advice on the local area.

Negative Reviews

No Wi-Fi in rooms

Although Internet access is available in public areas of the West Arms, there is no in-room Wi-Fi While not a problem for many guests, some do mention it’s a little inconvenient It does seem that there are plans to extend access into the rooms at some point in the future.

Restaurant gets a little cramped at times

Although this is perhaps testament to the delicious dining on offer, some guests do mention that it gets a little too busy for comfort in the restaurant Non-guests can eat here, so it’s worth confirming to staff that you want to eat here during your stay.

A little too old for some guests

Some guests found the inn to be a little too old for their liking, but old is pretty much what you should expect from a 16th-century inn Some comments crop up about the dated décor and old bathrooms.
