Positive Reviews

Great location off the A5 and near town centre

Reviewers liked the convenience of this hostel's location just a short stroll from the charming town centre for shops, supermarkets and dining options. There were also attractions within walking distance like the River Dee and Llangollen Railway heritage line. Motorists appreciated the proximity of the A5 road, parking options and petrol stations.

Praise for rooms, rates and facilities.

Visitors welcomed the flexibility of this self-catering option with its range of room types including dormitories for groups on a budget. There was praise for the shared kitchen where guests could prepare their own meals. Guests enjoying outdoor pursuits nearby liked the provision of bike and canoe storage plus a drying room for clothes made wet by the Welsh weather. The competitively-priced rooms appealed to many reviewers who said they were simple but comfy, clean and tidy with good bathrooms, although not all rooms had en suites.

Friendly staff, relaxed vibe and free breakfast

This hostel was reportedly staffed by a friendly and knowledgeable team who fostered a homely and relaxed atmosphere. The simple free breakfast was a toast, juices and cereal affair, but a welcome bonus for budget-conscious travellers.

Negative Reviews

Occasional parking grumbles

Some motorists wished they could have parked on-site at this property as parking in Llangollen town centre was sometimes problematic in high season. However, a free overnight public car park was located nearby. Daytime charges were reasonable too.

Patchy Wi-Fi and no TV

The free Wi-Fi was occasionally unreliable, according to some critics who experienced sluggish speeds or a weak signal. There were also some guests who bemoaned the lack of a TV.

Traffic noise bothered some light sleepers

Some rooms facing the A5 road were reportedly exposed to traffic noise at times, which interrupted the sleep of some reviewers.
