Non-drivers welcomed the proximity of bus stops, while motorists welcomed the free parking. Powys beauty spots, the Brecon Beacons, area attractions and the Shropshire hills were all within striking distance thanks to the proximity of the A483, A44 and A470 roads.

Negative Reviews

Mixed views over restaurant food

Several critical diners claimed there was a limited choice of dishes on the restaurant menu. Although many diners enjoyed their meals, others sometimes said the food was nothing special.

Nuisance noise reported

There were occasional claims that noise from neighbouring rooms sometimes travelled easily, causing an irritation for several light sleepers. Noisy plumbing was also said to be a source of nuisance noise in some of the rooms.

Claims some rooms had shortcomings

Some reviewers felt the hotel had seen better days and would benefit from further modernization to address maintenance issues like dated decor, aging mattresses and unreliable showers in some parts of the property. Several critics also said they struggled to regulate the room temperature from time to time or discovered bathrooms that could have been more thoroughly cleaned.
