Positive Reviews

Fantastic rooms.

The combination of a peaceful atmosphere with a great bed was simply wonderful for many guests who said that they slept like babies. Rooms had space to spare, and while decor is continually being updated, guests felt that rooms had the perfect recipe for a wonderful visit. Amazing views and pet-friendly accommodation were also positive aspects for many staying here.

Start the day off just right.

Breakfast really made an impact on guests who never left hungry. The extensive selection of cold items suited those with smaller appetites, and the cooked breakfasts were prepared to perfection. The thoughtful hosts even had baby food and special items for children, and were also willing to pack a breakfast for early risers.

Friendly owners.

It was obvious to guests that the proprietors of Highland Moors were a dedicated bunch. A lot of care was put into the smaller details, and guests enjoyed a warm welcome.

Negative Reviews

Older decor.

Guests reported that room design and furnishings were perfectly adequate, but in need of a bit of a refresh in some cases. This is something the owners seem to be working on, but in the meantime, certain decor might look a little tired.

Hot water woes.

This bed and breakfast caters to many guests on cycling tours and who attend events in the area with an early start time. As such, a few guests experienced a cold shower due to the morning rush. The problem has reportedly been rectified, but a few guests were left shivering.

Stairs to climb.

This charming Victorian house has no lift, so if you would rather not take the stairs, ask for a room on the lowest floor.
