About The Royal Victoria

Nestled at the foot of Mount Snowdon between two of North Wales' most beautiful lakes is The Royal Victoria. In addition to jaw-dropping scenery, this three-star Victorian hotel also boasts 30 acres of beautiful private grounds replete with its very own castle!

Guest rooms are well-appointed and come with en-suite facilities including a bath and/or shower. Flat-screen TVs, hairdryers and tea/coffee making facilities are standard features. Most rooms offer mountain, woodland or courtyard views.

Complementary Wi-Fi is available in public areas and ample parking is provided to residents free of charge. The hotel also offers extensive wedding planning/bridal suite services.

Along with Welsh and Continental breakfast options, the 'Padarn' and 'Victoria' restaurants serve up a wide array of traditional lunch and dinner menus. Guests can enjoy a stiff drink (or a fine wine) in the 'Dolbadarn Lounge'.

The Snowdon Mountain Railway is less than 100 metres from The Royal Victoria.

Positive Reviews

Surrounding scenery is absolutely stunning

It is no wonder betrothed couples travel from miles around to get married at The Royal Victoria With the Peris and Padarn lakes in the foreground, the mighty Snowdon in the background and the evocative Dolbadarn Castle loitering in the woods, this place looks and feels like something straight out of a fairytale.

Unbeatable location for outdoor enthusiasts

Of course, it goes without saying that walkers and hikers will love The Royal Victoria as the Llanberis Path up to Snowdon is almost in the hotel's back yard Throw in the plentiful opportunities for canoeing, climbing and even zip-lining (the longest zip line in the northern hemisphere is in nearby Bethesda) though and it's clear to see you're in outdoor pursuits paradise!

Breakfast really hits the mark

Tasty, hot and generous: the catering staff know exactly what's needed to get you properly fuelled for a day of adventuring Even the veggie sausages are top drawer!

Negative Reviews

Hotel spotlights can disturb sleep in some front-facing rooms

How bright are the spotlights used to illuminate the outside of the hotel at night? Bright enough to penetrate the curtains in some front-facing rooms and ensure those staying within them struggle to sleep, that's how bright.

Internet options are poor

No complementary Internet access in guest rooms and poor speeds and reliability issues with the Wi-Fi proffered in the hotel's public areas No, this isn't the best place to come if staying online is important to you.

Hotel is a bit dated in places

The main hotel building is essentially a Victorian building and as such there are some parts of it (including some of the guest accommodations) which look more than a little 'tired' Happily, renovation is on its way.
