About The Old Palace

The Old Palace is located in the heart of Lincoln’s historic quarter. Built on the foundations of a medieval palace, the hotel is situated next to Lincoln Cathedral.

The location could not be better

The hotel is perfectly located if you're planning a visit to the cathedral, Old Bishop's Palace, Lincoln Castle and many other places in and around Lincoln It’s a real joy to be able to stay in such an historic area – the architecture and atmosphere really can’t be beaten To top it off the views from the hotel are stunning.

Good food and friendly staff

Staff at The Old Palace are friendly, helpful and really go out of their way to make you feel at home The food in the restaurant is delicious. The breakfasts are freshly cooked and the full English breakfast is particularly good.

The hotel and rooms are lovely – full of character

The hotel is quiet, relaxing and rich in historical character It has beautiful grounds to walk around Rooms at the hotel are comfortable, clean and rather spacious – also plenty of tea and biscuits in the room! What really completes the stay are the extras, like the morning paper and free parking.

The hotel is hard to find

Not a criticism of the hotel itself, but The Old Palace is hard to find due to there being no signage in the area Directions to the hotel could do with being improved.

The Cathedral bells are loud and frequent

You may enjoy the sound of the Cathedral bells, and many people do, but some found the loud and frequent ringing of the bells to be disruptive to their stay If you’re planning on staying here, it might be an idea to ask for a room that’s further away from the cathedral.
