About Kinabalu Pine Resort

Kinabalu Pine Resort offers rustic accommodation in a stunning location; allowing guests to marvel at magnificent views of Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain in Malaysia and part of Kinabalu Park, a World Heritage Site.

The various en-suite cabin-like rooms offer one double or two single beds and satellite television. Other mod cons include a hairdryer, Wi-Fi access and tea/coffee making facilities. Guests can opt for cabin rooms with a balcony or terrace with glorious mountain views.

Kinabalu Pine Resort features a conference hall which can accommodate up to 150 attendees. Family-friendly on-site amenities include a children’s playground, barbecue pits and karaoke evenings.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served in the hotel’s restaurant. Indian, Chinese and international dishes are available with Steamboat, a type of Chinese stew, being one of the specialities.

A three-minute drive, the Kundasang War Memorial poignantly commemorates Commonwealth prisoners of war. Around four miles away, Desa Dairy Farm provides another opportunity to see Mount Kinabalu while enjoying delicious ice cream.

Negative Reviews

Unreliable Wi-Fi

A particular source of frustration is the unreliable Wi-Fi service provided by the hotel. Guests mention that the Wi-Fi signal is intermittent and weak in the rooms thus making it very tricky connecting to the Internet. It seems that the signal is stronger in reception.

Noisy at times

Guests report that the room walls aren’t very good at keeping noise out. In particular, guests sometimes find the nights quite noisy with it being possible to hear other guests speaking. Mention is also made of cockerels crowing early in the morning.

Accommodation could be modernised

Guests feel that the rooms would benefit from some modernisation in order to improve the standard of accommodation.
