Positive Reviews

Good location

The Strathearn in Kircaldy, UK, is a good place to stay for tourists to visit the art gallery and museums. Guests can also easily visit Kircaldy centre by taxi or car. The area is quiet and guests say that they find the peace relaxing. They enjoy great morning walks in the Ravenscraig Park opposite and feel de-stressed. It is perfect to explore the Fife region as the hotel is central to a lot of attractions in that area.

Friendly staff; great breakfast

Many guests say that the staff is very friendly at the hotel. They give personal attention to guests and make them feel welcome. Guests delight in the warm atmosphere of the hotel. They also enjoy the good Scottish full breakfast and say that the meal is generous with portions as well.

Clean rooms; value for money

Rooms are basic but guests say that they are well maintained with crisp and clean bedding and linen. They say the accommodation is fine for a good night's sleep and well worth the money paid for the area.

Negative Reviews

Dated hotel

Most guests say that the hotel is dated. Even for a Victorian style hotel, the furniture and decor seem outdated.

Small rooms and bathrooms

Some guests say that the rooms are cramped. The bathrooms are tiny as well and tall guests have trouble standing up straight in the shower. The fixtures and fittings in the shower are poor and the curtains are cheap and almost transparent. Even a bedside cabinet is not provided.

No Wi-Fi as advertised in all rooms

The advertised Wi-Fi in the rooms is not available in all the rooms but same rates are applicable. Guests are vexed that after paying the higher rates, they have to read and reply to their emails on the stairway instead of in their rooms.
