Positive Reviews

Staff are always pleasant.

The people working at this hotel always are happy to see guests, and interactions are very friendly. Requests are also promptly and graciously handled by the staff in all areas of the hotel.

A great spot for outdoor lovers.

Scot House Hotel is placed in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park, and makes for an ideal base to explore the area. Outdoors explorers like to use this hotel as a base for hiking, biking, and bird watching.

Food in the restaurant is delicious.

While the menu at the Scot House Hotel's Spey Bistro is a little slim, the Scottish dishes that are on offer are well prepared and satisfy the tastes of many guests.

Negative Reviews

Hotel is in need of a general sprucing up.

Areas of this hotel are starting to show their wear. The furniture in the guestrooms are a bit dated, and a new coat of paint could really improve the property's overall appearance.

Extra heaters may be needed.

Hotel guests aren't able to control the temperature in the private rooms, and some report being too cold during their stay. Mentioning this to the front desk will allow for the use of extra space heaters to try and improve comfort.

Accommodation is more B&B than hotel.

Some of the people who stay at the Scot House Hotel feel the accommodation would be better classified as a bed and breakfast guest house rather than an outright hotel. This is due to rooms that are on the small side and a general lack of amenities.
