About Hotel Ardanaiseig

Originating as a 19th century mansion designed by William Burn, Hotel Ardanaiseig is now a dog friendly luxury hotel on almost 250 acres overlooking Loch Awe. It's in the shadows of Ben Cruachan, and has won multiple awards for accommodations, dining, and wedding facilities.

Each of the main house rooms have distinct styles, and include flat-screen TV, bathrobes, coffee/tea, DVD player, and free Wi-Fi. A one bedroom and a two bedroom bungalow, both with kitchen facilities, are also on the grounds.

There is a library and an amphitheatre for special events. Boat tours, fishing lessons, and ticket specials for family activities can be arranged. Parking is free.

Hotel Ardanaiseig has an onsite bar, and a restaurant that serves a variety of menus. Scottish breakfast is provided at surcharge.

Kilchurn Castle and Scottish Sea Life Sanctuary are within 25 miles. The designated Glorious Gardens of Argyll are 45 minutes to an hour away.

Positive Reviews

Fabulous location and beautiful accommodations

The Highlands are a beautiful background to the hotel's stately presence and what lies inside the rooms You can specify which house bedroom you'd like, choosing between subtle and bold colours and varying features such as a claw-foot tub, rainfall shower, four poster bed, and loch or garden views The stand-alone “boat shed” and “rose cottage” accommodations are perfect for those who want a romantic retreat.

Wonderful team to help plan a wedding with

The hotel keeps the control of wedding and/or reception plans in your hands, so that you have the event just as you want it They're open to and supportive of all themes and ideas, and work with you to make those wishes happen.

The higher prices are well worth the experience

Ardanaiseig may require more budgeting than other hotels, but the overall experience is worth it Golf, hiking, fell walking, horseback riding, clay pigeon shooting, archery, kayaking, and sailing are within reach You could easily spend the day just taking a picnic lunch and a camera, and roaming the hotel's expansive grounds.

Negative Reviews

Short handed staff not always sure of themselves

Staff is not always present when most needed, and on occasion, overwhelmed or openly unsure about an answer or request The lack of confidence or knowledge is slightly off-putting.

Disappointing room decors and paying for breakfast

While unique in their individual styles that combine antiques and modern flair, the rooms are seen as worn down and in need of better upkeep The surcharge for breakfast is a minor annoyance, because of the multitude of cheaper lodgings that include a free meal.

No assistance with carrying bags up and down steps

You may want to pack as lightly as possible, since there is often no assistance with taking luggage up to the rooms.
