Positive Reviews

Staff always on hand

Attentive staff were more than pleased to share some of the local history with their guests. Staff stood out when they all wore their "I am a storyteller" T-shirts and found it a pleasure helping with booking transportation to and from the city.

Lovely clean rooms

The rooms were a fair size with charming little balconies according to travellers, who also found them to be clean, neat and well-appointed. Guests were also very pleased that there was almost always a good supply of hot water available in the rooms.

Rooftop restaurant is a delight

This charming restaurant got some rave reviews for its extensive menu and scrumptious cuisine. Guests said the food was always freshly cooked and of a very high standard. They added that the quiet atmosphere and fort view made the meal even more delectable.

Negative Reviews

Hassled by tuk-tuk drivers

Guests said that although this was not the fault of the hotel, they did get frustrated that every time they set foot outside, these traditional "drivers" would make such a nuisance of themselves. Make sure you know exactly where you are going and how you intend to get there to avoid this situation.

Air-conditioned/air-cooled, there's a difference!

Guests who thought they had booked an air-conditioned room were in for a surprise if, in fact, they had booked an air-cooled room instead. Rooms that only had fans did not cool the air down sufficiently, and several guests insisted on upgrading, but had to pay an additional fee.
