Positive Reviews

Ideal Location & Scenery

Some of the most breathtaking natural terrain in the world stands within thirty minutes of this location. Perfect for walking tours of surrounding landscapes and city sites including Ingleton, White Scar Caves, some excellent pubs, the Pennines & Yorkshire Dales National Park. If hiking isn't your thing, try a picturesque drive through the countryside.

Stellar Eats & Beer

Complimentary breakfast serves the full English in addition to continental and is included with your room rate- will not disappoint. All meals are delicious, and lunches are large enough even in the smaller portions available. Noteworthy fish & chips Beer is remarkably good. Ask for a packed lunch to go if you plan to see the sights all afternoon. Call in to pre-order your dinner if you have a large group or are arriving later than the kitchen is open. Kitchen closes at 9:00 pm.

Smiling, Welcoming Staff

Cheery staff will make your day brighter and tend to your every need here. From reception to check-out, the staff looks out for guests' comforts with no doubt. Nothing is too much trouble, so don't hesitate to ask.

Negative Reviews

Temperamental Wi-Fi

The main site states that Wi-Fi works best near the bar. In-room (and elsewhere) Wi-Fi is often intermittent If this is crucial to your stay, you might consider booking elsewhere.

Noisy Bar Area

There is, after all, a popular pub with beer garden on-site and another within walking distance. If your room is near/above the bar, expect some noise.

Dated & Shabby

Looks nicer from outside than once entered. Overall, the place needs a revamp. Shabby and rundown accommodations from top to bottom. Dated decor, mouldy showers, very uncomfortable old mattresses. However, if you're not expecting luxury and you bring your own bleach along, most guests survive just fine.
