Positive Reviews

Charming Locale

This is a cosy, well-maintained Victorian guest house just ten minutes' walk from central Ilfracombe and less than a mile to the beach and harbour. Common areas are pristine and decor is tasteful, traditional and eye-catching. Bus stops are handy along the route to town and back and there's plenty of parking. Breakfast is served in an elegant dining room, beautifully-presented with cereal, yogurt, juices, fresh fruits and hot cooked dishes including the full English and vegetarian options.  If you bring your dog along, there's a dog-friendly park nearby and the host's pup, Poppy, will enjoy meeting them!

Cosy Rooms

Spacious rooms provide everything you'll need from lovely complimentary toiletries to tea/coffee making provisions, and hot chocolate. Amenities are clean, decor is classic and the arrangement is fresh.

A Hospitable Host

The owner is friendly and remarkably helpful, routinely going above and beyond for her guests. Her personal touch is what separates venues like this from the rest - fantastic attention to detail.

Negative Reviews

A Hilly Hike To Town

You will probably prefer to ride back from town rather than walk as the inclines are steep on the return trip. There are bus stops nearby or the host will be happy to call you a cab. If she isn't too busy, she even might offer to pick you up herself.

No Lift

For those with mobility issues, consider a ground floor accommodation. There is no lift on the premises.

A Few Foibles

Most were impressed with their rooms and overall visit, but a couple thought the beds were a bit uncomfortable and the water took a while to warm up.
