Positive Reviews

Immaculate rooms

Guests find that the rooms at the Eight Bells are of a high standard, often describing the accommodation as spotlessly clean and roomy with comfy beds and great showers. Other highlights include the generous hospitality trays and the large fluffy towels. As the rooms are away from the pub/restaurant, a peaceful night is on the cards.

Big and tasty breakfast

You can look forward to a great start to your day here. Guests find the breakfast at the Eight Bells is fantastic - of a generous size and beautifully cooked. Similarly favourable comments are often directed at lunches and evening meals.

Great atmosphere

Previous guests have enjoyed the atmosphere here, commenting on the warm welcome from the owners, the friendliness of the staff and how the pub is the true heart of the village. Expect to feel welcome, comfortable and at home here.

Negative Reviews

Occasional Wi-Fi issues

Although not a regular concern, guests do occasionally mention that they encountered problems when trying to get online. Some simply found the service was intermittent but others were unable to get online at all.

No meals on Sunday evenings

The restaurant is only open for lunch on Sundays so guests staying on a Sunday evening will not be able to choose from the evening meal menu. However, previous overnight guests mention that the landlord offered to make them a light meal.

Very occasional poor meals

The Eight Bells seems to be growing its reputation for dining in the area. However, it's not all plain sailing as some guests have reported a disappointing experience. That said, a poor meal here is not the norm and there's a good chance that you'll enjoy a great meal.
