Positive Reviews

Peaceful location, ideal for nature lovers.

Guests appreciated the peaceful setting as well as the wonderful views of the Yorkshire countryside. The hotel is in close proximity to numerous nature trails making it an ideal location for keen walkers. If you are looking for a relaxing countryside getaway, then you certainly won't be disappointed.

Comfortable and well-appointed rooms.

Many were pleased to find that they had everything they needed in their rooms for a comfortable stay including powerful showers, branded toiletries and well-stocked hospitality trays. Guests complimented the decor stating that the rooms were tastefully presented with quality furniture and upholstery.

Lots of places to relax and socialise.

After a busy day of sightseeing guests were able to choose from quite a few comfortable places where they could relax and unwind. The comfortable lounge with its cosy open fire proved very popular with many as well as the library where guests could socialise and enjoy a game of snooker. During warmer weather, the patio was a favourite spot for many to sit and admire the views.

Negative Reviews

Some rooms away from the main building.

Guests who stayed in the annex building said that they had to walk across to the main building to get to the dining room which was sometimes cumbersome especially during bad weather.

Too many four-legged friends.

The hotel is dog-friendly and there are quite a few guests who stay here with their pets. Some objected to being able to hear dogs barking in the rooms as well as seeing them in many of the communal areas including the lounge.

Too many stairs.

There is no lift on the premises and some guests whose rooms were located on the upper floors said they found it quite tiring climbing the narrow stairs especially when carrying heavy luggage.
