Positive Reviews

Convenient location

Guests find The Goodlife Guesthouse in Harwich in a convenient location with a reasonable choice of restaurants and pubs close by and the Wine Bar on the ground floor onsite. Guests can walk to the seafront to catch the ferry and also to some places of historic interest.

Spacious rooms and enormous family rooms

Guests say that although the guesthouse appears a bit dodgy from the outside and right on the main road, it is great inside. The rooms are spacious with good facilities. Guests especially appreciated the family rooms, which they say are enormous, clean and of a high standard. They noted little touches like thick towels and matching bedding and decor.

Great owners, ample parking

The owners of the guesthouse are lovely and guests say they are very helpful. Parking facilities are provided right opposite to the property and guests appreciated that it is free, ample and secure. Many guests say they will recommend the place to enjoy the beaches and the local area.

Negative Reviews

Wi-Fi weak in the rooms

Guests had a problem with the Wi-Fi connection in their rooms as it was too weak to work. The signal at the bar is stronger and does help the issue but guests say they would have liked to use the Wi-Fi in the rooms, especially ones who needed to catch up on their work.

Smells like a dog house

Since pets are allowed in the guesthouse, many guests complained about the smells as they said that it smelled like a dog house. They can also experience the smells from the bar downstairs, which is less than pleasant inside the rooms.

Noise issues

Several guests say that noise travelled easily in the property as it was on the main road. Noise from the ground floor bar was also heard constantly, which guests see as unacceptable.
