About Ethorpe Hotel

Located in the heart of Gerrards Cross, nestled in the Chilterns, sits Ethorpe; a traditional pub and hotel converted from the wealthy gentleman's residence.

Rooms include a flat-screen TV, hospitality tray, black-out curtains, work desk and chair. Four-poster rooms add a sunken jacuzzi bath and air conditioning to the list of amenities.

The Georgian-style building has an impressive portico front entrance and boasts exposed beams, open fires and hidden seating nooks. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available and there is ample on-site parking.

Traditional pub food, seasonal specials and Sunday roasts are served in the inn, as well as fine wines and real ales. Children's meals and gluten-free options are also offered.

The train station is two-minutes away and a direct train takes half an hour to reach London Waterloo. The Chiltern Hills, an area of outstanding beauty, and the Towns of Beaconsfield and Uxbridge, are within easy reach.

Positive Reviews

Convenient commute into London.

With the train station a short stroll away, and a journey of just half an hour when you get there, the hotel is ideally situated for a day trip into London. Trains run late into the evening too; so there should be plenty of time to catch a show and dinner

Spacious and comfortable.

Guest rooms are spacious and family rooms, in particular, offer plenty of room for all occupants. Many guests remark on how comfortable the beds are, and appreciate the bonuses in some rooms such as sunken jacuzzi baths and four-poster beds.

Courteous, professional staff.

Ethorpe have, by all accounts, a high number of return visitors and, given that the staff are reported as being courteous and professional, this comes as little surprise. Many guests have been greeted with pots of tea and tours of the premises.

Negative Reviews

Guests suggest that some parts and fitments in Ethorpe contrast with the Georgian grandeur of the exterior of the building; plastic tumblers are provided in the bathroom rather than glass, complimentary toiletries are not supplied and paintwork could do w

Dim lighting.

Guest rooms are dimly lit, making make-up application difficult and, with low wattage bulbs in the bedside lamps, reading near impossible.
