Positive Reviews

Wonderful staff

Members of staff generally are very good ... and friendly and charming with it. Irish hospitality can’t get much better than this.

Scoring high with the food

The food, generally, is very good. If you fancy watching the footy on the TV, the best place is in the company of other like-minded fanatics in the bar. You’ll find the drinks and food service here to be as enjoyable as the game itself.

A relaxing room

The bed is super comfy and the room, generally, is attractively decorated and furnished.

Negative Reviews

Dreary dining is off-key

The dining area is difficult to digest. It is quite dull and uninviting; particularly when compared with the bright and breezy atmosphere at the reception. When the place is quiet, the bar, too, is wanting in the atmosphere department. Maybe a little night music in the background would jolly things along a bit. Incidentally, breakfast is OK but better enjoyed by early birds. Leave it till later and what’s left isn’t very appetising.

No private lives

Crazily, there are no tea and coffee facilities in this room, so you can’t kick your shoes off and relax over a cuppa. The balcony idea sounds romantic but in reality, it is communal and results in a feeling of vulnerability. Surprisingly, it sounds as if they’ve skimped on the cost of soundproofing. There is quite a bit of room noise; especially from neighbours with excitable kids.

These Irish eyes aren’t smiling

In the leisure areas, there are noisy young kids swarming all over the place ... everywhere; particularly in places that are out of bounds to them. Staff members on duty seem immune. They concentrate on not upsetting the youngsters but ignore the discomfort caused to other guests.
