Positive Reviews

Excellent value.

When you take into account the sheer size and space provided, plus the on-site facilities, there can be no doubt that this is a viable base, particularly if planning on touring the area.

Water beds.

Beds are really comfortable and the area itself is very peaceful and close to the extensive Terryland Waterworks.

Speak a language that strangers do not know'.

If you know Arthur Colahan's song, ‘Galway Bay', you may remember the line above.  Everyone is genuinely very friendly wherever you go in this region. You may not always understand the Irish ‘brogue' but there's no mistaking the welcome you receive here.

Negative Reviews

Old times.

The students may be young but there are elements of the accommodation that are very much on the ‘mature' side. It's heading in the direction of ‘drab' ... with old fixtures, fittings and furnishings. It's OK-ish and no big deal but to promote the accommodation as being luxurious is pushing it a bit, even allowing for a sprinkling of Irish blarney.

That walk into Galway

‘My Left Foot' (Dublin born writer, Christy Brown) … and the right one both need to be tuned to Olympic proportions if you are going to walk into Galway itself. The prospect needs careful consideration as a ‘one-off' expedition. If you want to ‘see the sun go down on Galway Bay' (song), rather than missing it and arriving long after nightfall, get a quite expensive taxi … both ways!

Chipped around the edges.

You become aware of the fact that levels of maintenance have been allowed to fall below acceptable standards. Nothing drastic, but a noticeable feature on the negative front.
