About Asgard Guest House

Irish hospitality is high on the menu at the three-star Asgard Guest House which is just a five-minute walk from Galway’s city centre.

Rooms at Asgard Guest House are en-suite and include tea and coffee facilities, Wi-Fi and cable TV. Single, double, twin and family rooms are available.

A feature of the property is the appealing glass atrium with views of the garden. The location ensures easy access to the city centre and in this family run B&B, the friendly owners ensure visitor satisfaction.

The full Irish Breakfast is, for many, sufficient in quality and content, to see them through the entire day. Later options and less than ten minutes' walk away are at the acclaimed food-serving Irish bar, An Púcán. In the opposite direction, The Huntsman Inn has a varied menu with seafood being a speciality.

Many of Galway’s attractions are less than a mile from the B&B. They include the park at Eyre Square, Galway Greyhound Stadium and the Discover Ireland Centre.

Positive Reviews

Breakfast through the looking glass

The glass atrium is the perfect setting for breakfast. Overlooking the garden it’s something of a mini-wonderland and it couldn't be a more attractive place from which to start the day. It doesn’t end there though. Breakfast itself is quite superb with quality, local produce very much in evidence. Bacon, sausages and eggs, they're all the best you can get. Breakfast and its environment are both just perfect.

There’s no Irish blarney here

Irish hospitality is legendary and you sometimes wonder if the stories are true or just Irish blarney. Here and for certain, the stories are true. The owners are so friendly and helpful but they don’t intrude in any way. They are just there to assist if you need them. It’s far more than just a B&B. They go out of their way to ensure that you visit the places of main interest and that you enjoy Galway as much as the B&B itself.

The best of both worlds

Negative Reviews

It’s a bit cramped

The place wasn’t built to accommodate families and energetic kids, so – yes, it is somewhat cramped. It’s strange to relate though that the kids themselves actually love the set-up.

Cash is on the cards

They don’t take card payment here so be prepared to go and raid an ATM to settle your account.
