Positive Reviews

Good breakfast

The hotel offers a combination of a cold breakfast buffet and cooked dishes Guests appreciate being able to order their hot breakfast from a menu rather than choosing from a buffet On the whole, the breakfast is rated highly, so it seems you can expect a good start to your day.

Excellent location

While set back from the hustle and bustle of the town centre, this hotel is within a reasonable walking distance of many local attractions Plus, you’ll find yourself steps from the beach, promenade and coastal park Guests describe these areas as immaculate and picturesque.

Personable staff

Negative comments about the staff at this hotel are few and far between In fact, reviews are overwhelmingly positive about the service here, so it appears that a warm welcome is more or less guaranteed.

Negative Reviews

Dated décor

Although the hotel describes itself as traditional, a fair number of guests think this translates to dated It doesn't look like this hotel has been refurbished in a while, so fixtures and fittings are looking a little worn and the décor may look better in the 80s It’s worth noting that some guests regard this as a plus, as it adds to the character of the property.

Parking can be problematic

Some guests describe paying for metered parking near the hotel then realising they could have enjoyed a discount had they checked in first - presumably risking a ticket in the meantime Others weren't able to find a space within a ten-minute walk of the hotel.

A number of guests comment that the noise levels at this hotel are unacceptable It appears that a nearby venue is not shy about blasting loud music until the early hours but guests found the thin walls caused internal noise problems too.
