Positive Reviews

Great for travellers on a budget.

The Jacobs Ladder Inn doesn't charge too much for its rooms, offering basic but comfortable accomodation in a classic English inn. It's actually pretty good value, and if you're visiting Falmouth on a budget this place is for you.

Good atmosphere for meeting other people.

There is a warm communal atmosphere here, after all it has been frequented by travellers for centuries. You'll be sure to meet interesting people in the shared rooms or in the pub downstairs, many locals pop in daily for a pint.

Perfect location for exploring Falmouth.

This place enjoys a central location in historic Falmouth, close to the harbour and the high street. You can easily stroll along the cobblestone streets and enjoy everything the town has to offer without tiring yourself out.

Negative Reviews

Shared bathroom isn't kept clean enough.

There is dormitory-style accommodation here, and if you stay in one of the bunks you'll have to use the shared bathroom facilities. Unfortunately these aren't always as spotless as they should be and you might end up waiting for a shower in the morning.

The pub downstairs can get pretty noisy.

If you're looking for a quiet night and a good rest you may run into some trouble here. The downstairs bar can get pretty busy and you'll hear the patrons enjoying themselves until midnight. Make sure you bring your earplugs!

A bit tatty around the edges.

The Jacobs Ladder Inn has certainly seen better days. Old electrical fittings and stains on the carpet don't do this place any favours. A thorough refurbishment would really help to bring this place back to its former glory.
