Positive Reviews

A bed and breakfast bursting with character.

Town House is a unique bed and breakfast that is anything but traditional. The individually styled rooms are named after literary characters, from Charles Dickens’ ‘Nicholas Nickleby’ to Oscar Wilde’s ‘Dorian Gray’.

Convenient central location in Exeter.

Halfway between Exeter St Davids rail station and the city centre, you will be able to walk to many local attractions, including the Royal Albert Memorial Museum, the Princesshay shopping centre and Exeter Cathedral.

Delicious breakfast with plenty of choice.

All tastes are catered for at breakfast, where you can choose from baked croissants, a variety of fresh fruit and yoghurt, muesli, toast and more. Lovers of a full English cooked breakfast will not be disappointed either, and you’ll even find scrambled eg

Negative Reviews

Car parking can be problematic.

If you drive here you will be given a temporary parking permit so that you can park your car on the street outside without getting a ticket. This is a nice touch by the bed and breakfast, but it does not solve the problem of finding a parking spot on this

Some rooms are too small for comfort.

Town House is a bed and breakfast in an old Victorian house, and the result of the conversion has been a few very cramped rooms with equally pokey en-suite bathrooms. If you find your room too cramped for comfort ask if it is possible to change.

Situated on a main road that can get a bit noisy.

While the traffic is unlikely to keep you up at night, the yells and howls of revellers walking past in the early hours probably will. If you are staying here over the weekend be aware that there are quite a few pubs nearby.
