Positive Reviews

Small B&B, 5* service.

For most guests, the best thing about the Oakcliffe is the service; the chatty, amenable hostess is on hand to lend umbrellas, give pub recommendations and directions. Her helpful, friendly demeanour creates a friendly atmosphere, and many guests stay regularly because of it.

Highly convenient.

With its location close to the main train station; linking Exeter to the rest of the UK, the University and the City Centre, the guest house is ideally situated for those exploring the City and County, as a whole. Off-street parking is a welcome addition.

Variety at breakfast.

Breakfast is plentiful; with plenty of choice to select from. A huge range of cereals are available to choose from, condiments aplenty and, if you opt for the cooked breakfast, a generous serving of the classic Full English. Vegetarian alternatives are available.

Negative Reviews

Compact bathrooms.

Some guests find the bathrooms at Oakcliffe on the compact side and, while some do enjoy en-suite facilities, the more budget-friendly rooms share them. Despite their diminutive stature, bathrooms; shared or no, are kept immaculately clean.

Little in the way of views.

As you might expect from a City Centre bed and breakfast, very few rooms have views to speak of. Whether looking out across the guest house car park or neighbouring buildings, the views are not the draw for most.

Wi-Fi due an upgrade.

The Wi-Fi at Oakcliffe can be slow at times, and you may find it unusable if there are several guests utilising the service at once; it could certainly benefit from being boosted.
