Winterton on Sea Beach (Winterton-on-Sea, United Kingdom)
Located 8km to the north of Great Yarmouth the beach at Winterton on Sea stretches for over 2km and provides fine, golden sand with a gentle incline down to the sea. There are no facilities on the beach, which is accessed via a steep footpath from the village but there is a pay and display car park, a café and public toilets at the head of this path. The sand dunes around the beach are a designated nature reserve and a site of special scientific interest (SSSI). They are locally famous for a colony of seals and also provide an important habitat for fauna and flora although the area is especially noted for its bird life and the scarce migrant species that it attracts annually. Access to the area is free (except for car parking charges) and it is accessible at all times.
