Dating from the late 19th century the Victorian Arcade, which forms the centrepiece of the Victorian Quarter was designed by the architect Frank Matcham, who was also responsible for the design of the London Palladium and Coliseum. It was refurbished during the late 1980’s after falling into a state of disrepair and converted into a shopping centre, with a new design that incorporated its original Victorian features. Today it houses 75 different boutique style shops including Harvey Nichols, Vivienne Westwood and Paul Smith. It is open daily but individual store times vary.
