San Nicola Stadium (Bari, Italy)

Stadio San Nicola, named after the patron saint of the city was designed by Renzo Piano, it is a multi-purpose sports facility situated on the south-west edge of Bari. The stadium was built for the World Cup in 1990, the athletics track was added at a later date. Stadio San Nicola hosted five matches during the World Cup and has since been used for the 1991 European Cup final and a European Championship Qualifier in March 2007. The Stadio San Nicola is the home of AS Bari who play in the Serie A football league.
