Petworth House is a large 17th century mansion in extensive grounds landscaped by Capability Brown and a deer park. The house contains a large painting collection and was itself featured in some of Turners paintings. Petworth belonged to the Percy family from 1151 and the current mansion was built in a French style from the 1680s.
