Holy Cross Church Felsted (Great Dunmow, United Kingdom)

The Holy Cross Church in Felsted, near Great Dunmow, is a Grade I listed building and has a tall tower that dates back to the early 11th century. Some materials used in the building of the tower are of Roman origin and Neolithic tools found nearby indicate that there has been a settlement long before this time. The church was extended during later centuries and recently refurbished. Inside the church there are 16th century monuments to Richard 1st Lord Rich as well as his son Robert who was an important benefactor of the church and also is the founder of the nearby Felsted School.
