Galway City Museum (Galway, Ireland)

Galway City Museum which stands on the banks of the River Corrib and is adjacent to the Spanish Arch explores the rich archaeology, history, and heritage of Galway. The museum hosts a mix of permanent and touring exhibits spanning a range of interests. Exhibits covering prehistoric and medieval times with a fantastic range of artefacts and interactive displays are found on the ground floor. Some of the social history of Galway is explored on the first floor through Cinema. On the second floor is SeaScience where the whole family can have fun on this exhibition exploring marine life along Galway’s coastline. Lawrence’s Galway, a series of old photographs courtesy of the National Library of Ireland featuring Galway in the late 19th / early 20th century is also found on the second floor.
