City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival (Derry-Londonderry, United Kingdom)

Amid the May Bank Holiday weekend the Walled City of Derry~Londonderry resonates to the particular jazz rhythms resounding from theaters, bars, shopping plazas, eateries and on the city avenues, in the 14th Installment of the City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival. Running from Thursday, April 30 through until Monday May 4, the festival will include more than 250 gigs, over the five days, including performances from a wide scope of artists from right across the world. What’s more, it’s not just about Jazz… our Festival Music Trail has a wide mixed bag of genres of music – so grab a copy and go exploring the sounds of the city. Singer/ songwriter Jamie Cullum, will headline the festival with her performance at the Millennium Forum on Monday 4th May. Other than Derry Jazz Festival favourites such as the Jive Aces, Harry Connolly, The Red Stripe Band, Derry Jazz Quartet, The Roaring forties, Cat Scratch Fever and Mission Impossible who will all be returning, performing at the festival as well will be highly acclaimed homegrown talent from the City such as Gay and Paul McIntyre.
