You can walk to Reims Cathedral, Stade Delvane, Palais du Tau, and Musee des Beaux-Arts from the hotel.
A great central location.
Mercure Reims Centre Cathédrale is centrally located yet quiet at the same time. The hotel is within walking distance of Reims Cathedral and many of the most popular tourist destinations, and located near dozens of eclectic shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. You are also in close proximity to the Sunday Market, a colorful, local shopping market which is not to be missed.
Pets are welcome.
It’s wonderful that pets are allowed at this hotel, especially if you like to travel with your favourite canine companion. Your dog will love it too, because Reims is such a dog-friendly place and there are so many great walks to be had just outside your door. In addition, your furry friend is welcome to accompany to the hotel’s restaurant and bar.
This is a non-smoking hotel.
This is a 100% non-smoking property which is great if you don’t imbibe and like your accommodations smelling fresh rather than like stale, second-hand smoke.
The restaurant is closed for lunch on the weekends.
The restaurant at Mercure Reims Centre Cathédrale only serves lunch Monday through Friday which can be a bit of a drag. Luckily, there are several places to dine nearby like La Trattoria which serves Italian fare.
The service is lacking at the Front Desk.
Lost reservations, un-fulfilled amenity requests and other snafus seem to occur more often than they should at this hotel. Maybe the front desk staff needs better training or they are understaffed, but you might find that you get a less-than-enthusiastic welcome from reception.
The corridors are dark.
The corridors are dark, narrow and rather smelly which gives you the impression of walking through a nasty tunnel. Luckily, the guest rooms do not share these traits.
