Guests appreciate the hotel's location within a few steps of the Main Train Station and within walking distance of the Altstadt (about 15 minutes) as well as the Konigsallee. Many guests use it as a base for visiting the Christmas Markets in the winter, and also note that there are many good restaurants in the neighbourhood, offering Italian, Japanese, Chinese, and, of course, German cuisine.

Many guests award the front desk staff high praise for their friendly, helpful, and professionalcustomer service, noting that they seem pleased to accommodate special requests and share their knowledge of the area. International travellers frequently comment on the personnel's "perfect" English and friendly, welcoming attitude.

Though no longer the most modern, the rooms are widely described as very large and comfortable with cosy beds. Guests appreciate the extra touches in the Privilege Rooms, including a well-stocked minibar, luxurious bathrooms, and large TVs. Some of the suites open onto a sunny terrace area, a joy in warmer months.

The hotel offers a number of single-occupancy rooms, which by several accounts are pretty small, with inefficiently-designed bathrooms. The elevators have also been described as tiny, a tight fit for four people without luggage.

Several guests have reported trouble with the air conditioning, and opening the window let in too much street noise for some. A few guests were uncomfortable to discover the hotel is within a short walk of the red light district.

Several guests were disappointed in their room's overall "worn" condition, and some were also let down by inconsistent or sub-par housekeeping.
