Kalypso Suites Hotel - Adults Only (Agios Nikolaos, Greece)

While the rooms and hotel are fairly basic, several guests mention that they got what they considered an excellent room-rate. So they concluded that they had received very good value for money for such a central hotel.

The location, right in the centre of Elounda, and overlooking the little harbour, was by far what guests most appreciated about the Kalypso. They found they could walk anywhere they wanted in the town, including to great restaurants, and also had a great outlook over the busy and interesting harbour.

Several guests expressed their amazement that a hotel right in the centre of town could be so quiet at night. They credited the double glazed windows with keeping out the street noise.

The lack of hot water for showering was mentioned quite a few times. It seems that the hotel uses a timer on its hot water tanks, resulting in large stretches where no hot water is available. It may be ecological, but guests were naturally unhappy to be having a cold shower.

While not all guests were unhappy, some reported that the rooms were not really cleaned and serviced with any degree of regularity. While they were regular hotel rooms, some said that the hotel serviced them as it would a more independent apartment.

Several guests reported being surprised to often find the reception desk unattended. This did create some small problems when they would have liked to ask a question or report an issue.
