About The Captain's House

Riverside former Sea-Captain's home with a beautiful garden, amidst waterfalls, cascades, wooded valleys, soaring cliffs tops and rugged beaches. Ideal base to explore Devon & Somerset within Exmoor National Park. Beckoning you are the glorious silver and green canopied walks to Watersmeet, Valley of the Rocks, Doone Valley, Woody Bay and Porlock. The Captains House is an ideal base for more adventurous tours on Exmoor, visit Dunster Castle, Dulverton, Selworthy, Horner Woods, and ancient Tarr Steps, overall stunning landscapes. A short trip one of the steepest railways in the world takes soaring 500 feet up the cliffs to our twin village of Lynton, commanding spectacular views of our Heritage coast, the highest sea cliffs in England. Pets by arrangement only.
