Shepherd's Purse

Centrally located in Whitby’s maze of cobbled streets, Shepherd’s Purse is a historic, seven-bedroom guest house. In a courtyard setting, it is just a short walk from the beach and the harbour. All rooms are traditionally styled and have either a four-poster or brass bed, TV, tea and coffee making facilities, towels and homely touches like bedspreads and lavender pillows. Most rooms have private bathrooms and overlook the central courtyard. Guests can enjoy the private garden and there is parking at the Church Street pay and display car park, just a 3-minute walk away. Although the Shepherd’s Purse doesn’t offer breakfast, it is surrounded by tea rooms, cafes, pubs, restaurants and traditional fish and chip shops. Room service offers hot drinks and light bites. This seaside town accommodation is close to many of the town’s popular attractions, two minutes from the 199 steps and the Captain Cook Memorial Museum.
