In the historic centre of Malaga, Juanita is a family run, townhouse based, pension with a number of modern features. Rooms are simply decorated and furnished with pine and terracotta themes. They include desk, free Wi-Fi and colour television. A hairdryer is available on request and whilst some rooms are en-suite, others share bathroom and toilet facilities. Free Wi-Fi extends into the communal areas. Offsite parking is nearby and at discounted rates. Floors are serviced by a lift and the reception area is permanently manned. There are many cafes nearby, serving breakfast to suit all preferences and budgets. Similarly, later dining needs are catered for in the vicinity by popular restaurants such as Gorkis. Pension Juanita is a few hundred yards from Atarazanas Market and Malaga Cathedral and is a 15 minute walk from the beach.
The pension is in the very heart of the historic quarter of Malaga city. It’s also hugely popular with lovers of shopping and the numerous tapas bars and restaurants in the area. This city is really buzzing and yet, inside, pension Juanita is very quiet and peaceful.
Very helpful and friendly, they’ll make sure that you have all the information you need to enjoy your stay. The safe deposit box in the reception area means you can deposit any valuables there before exploring the city or basking in the sunshine on the beach.
Some are en-suite and some are not. They are all well decorated, furnished and super clean; as are any shared bathroom areas. They are cleaned on a regular basis with towels changed. These are great value rooms.
During the summer months, these city centre rooms are without air conditioning and subject to intense day and night time heat. Fans are supplied but are only partially successful.
Very little noise coming from outside but sound insulation between the rooms is poor so there can be a problem with noise from fellow guests. Nothing terrible though!
There’s no catering here, not even breakfast. Fortunately, a few steps outside reveals lots of choice. A good one is El Tren, just turn left outside the hotel. Very good and super cheap.
